Information Minister opens Bahrain Summit’s media centre

Manama, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, Minister of Information and Chairman of the National Communication Centre (NCC) Board of Directors, inaugurated the media centre for the 33rd Arab Summit to be held in Bahrain, at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel.

Nabeel bin Yacoub Al Hamer, Advisor to His Majesty the King for Media Affairs, was present.

The minister affirmed that hosting the Arab Summit in the kingdom comes within the framework of the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the continuous follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for reinforcing joint Arab action and unity, particularly in light of the current regional and global challenges.

Dr. Al Noaimi was briefed on the readiness of the centre, which includes logistical services and equipment for journalists and media personnel, television stations, and Arab and International news agency correspondents.

He highlighted the advanced capabilities of the media centre
, emphasising the Ministry of Information’s commitment to providing all facilities and tools to media personnel and journalists covering the summit.

The Information Minister said that the summit brings together all Arab countries and attracts regional and international media coverage due to the Arab region’s global influence.

The decisions and recommendations issued by the summit shall contribute to shaping the future of the region, therefore it is imperative that the media coverage reflects the important of this event, Dr. Al Noaimi emphasised.

The minister said that efforts and resources have been dedicated to ensure the success of the Bahrain summit, within an action plan supervised by a specialised committee working in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Arab League.

He commanded the efforts of the NCC and its affiliates in preparing and organising the media centre.

The minister expressed Bahrain’s appreciation for the efforts of media personnel in covering the summit, which aims to enh
ance Arab unity and solidarity.

The media centre has various facilities like offices, halls, studios, translation units, broadcasting technology, computers, screens, and a press conference hall. It also has a “Bahrain Hall” that introduces visitors and media professionals to the kingdom’s achievements, cultural heritage, and landmarks, including the Pearling Path.

The centre also includes a special section dedicated to the celebration of the Silver Jubilee of HM’s Accession. It showcases the kingdom’s various achievements held under the comprehensive development process led by HM the King.
