Approved by the Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the activities of the GCC Endowment Week kicked off today.
The week aims at introducing endowment and its various purposes and community services. The second week of the blessed month of Ramadan was selected to organize this event every year. 'Endowment and Sustainability' was chosen as the slogan for this year to raise awareness about endowment, highlight its importance, review endowment achievements and market various related projects.
In a statement, the General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs stated that the decision to adopt the GCC Endowment Week comes in the context of the legal and historical status of the Islamic endowment and its great benefits and effects for individuals and peoples.
