HM King’s Media Advisor receives US Ambassador

Nabeel bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, Advisor to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for Media Affairs received Steven C. Bondy, Ambassador of the United States of America to Bahrain.

During the meeting, Al Hamer reviewed bilateral ties and cooperation in all areas, mainly in the media sector.

The advisor highlighted the ambassador's efforts to strengthen Bahraini-American relations.

The ambassador affirmed keenness to continue strengthening Bahraini-US ties.

Minister of Industry and Commerce visits Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency

Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, has stressed the importance of strengthening the foundations of fruitful cooperation between Bahrain and Japan in the field of space, due to this sector’s influential contributions to building a diversified competitive economy, based on knowledge and innovation.

The minister was speaking as he visited the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), in the presence of Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor bint Ali Al-Khulaif, within the framework of the official visit of Bahrain's economic delegation to Japan.

During the visit, the minister and the accompanying delegation listened to a detailed explanation of the mechanisms of work of the agency, as one of the most important international agencies working in the field of space exploration, space technologies development, satellite launching, moon exploration, asteroids, monitoring and protecting earth climate, and many other tasks concerned with space science.

Syrian government’s delegations to resume participation in Arab League meetings

Arab foreign ministers have decided to allow Syrian government's delegations to resume their participation in the meetings of the Arab League Council, and all its affiliated organisations and agencies, as of Sunday.

The resolution was issued today by the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, chaired by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, during the extraordinary session dedicated to discussing developments in the situation in Syria.

Syria's participation in the meetings of the Arab League and its specialised organisations was suspended on November 16, 2011, based on a resolution issued by the Arab League Council at the ministerial level following an emergency meeting.

Bahraini-UK: Solid legacy of friendship and strategic cooperation

The participation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in the Coronation ceremony of His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Head of the Commonwealth, demonstrated the deep rooted friendship ties between the two nations.

HM the King said that attending the coronation ceremony embodies the strength of the relations between the two countries and royal families, and the bilateral strategic ties that continued for over 200 years.

His Majesty affirmed that he would continue to work closely with HM King Charles III to further develop those outstanding relations.

During his meeting with James Cleverly, British Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister underlined the importance of the strategic ties between the two countries. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister said this had provided a solid foundation that served the development of bilateral ties and cooperation.

In addition to their strong cooperation, Bahrain and the United Kingdom share similar views and have collaborated to tackle many international developments. The two countries also share a strong belief that cooperation and peace are what enables humanity to achieve further progress and growth.

Joint action, partnership and cooperation between Bahrain and the United Kingdom were consolidated by agreements and memoranda of understanding in various areas.

The leaders of the two countries have exchanged visits on many occasions.

Bahrain had been a main stop for HM King Charles III during his Gulf and Arab tours since he was a Crown Prince.

The first visit of HM King Charles III to Bahrain was in 1986. The last visit was in 2016, marking the celebration of 200 years of friendship between Bahrain and the United Kingdom. The visit included a meeting with HM King Hamad and an extensive programme of community activities.

Government Hospitals, RCSI discuss cooperation

Chief Executive Officer of Government Hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Ansari, received here today the Vice-Chancellor of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), Professor Cathal Kelly, who is on a visit to the kingdom.

They discussed the ongoing cooperation between Bahrain's Government Hospitals and RCSI to upgrade the delivered health services and train medical cadres on providing high-level services.

They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation and invest the existing expertise and capabilities to contribute to developing the health system in the kingdom, and build medical competencies in the fields of education, training and scientific research.

Professor Cathal Kelly commended the work of Government Hospitals and its continuous support, which has contributed to developing the educational process at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Bahrain over the past years.

It is worth noting that the Government Hospitals had signed a cooperation agreement with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland earlier this year, to develop national cadres and improve health services, in line with the Kingdom's vision to achieve comprehensive health coverage and provide health services at the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
