Yemeni Security Officer Killed

Sana’a, July 02 (QNA) – A Yemeni security officer was killed in an armed attack in Ta’izz governorate, south of the capital Sana’a.

An official security source in the governorate said in a press release today that unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle fired machine gun shots towards Lt. Colonel Ahmad Hanash, a responsible officer at the security and order at the security department while passing near the General Post Office in the centre of the governorate, killing him on the spot.

Yemen has been since the middle of 2011, the scene of a number of assassinations that targeted security and military officers. They are executed by gunmen accused by security authorities of belonging to al-Qaeda organization.(QNA)
