Work is in progress for ten expansion projects of existing stations to augment additional facilities including food courts, mosques, stores, car washing sectors, and housing facilities for workers. Some of these projects are finalized, while some are expected to be completed in the second half of this year.

More than 40 stations are set to operate by mid-2015 with the number is expected to rise to 100 in 2017-18 when a new five-years-plan is expected to start covering the period 2019-2022, which will witness preparations for the 2022 World Cup. WOQOD plans to increase the number of new stations during the period 2018-2022 by around 50 in addition to expansion projects that could exceed 25 to add new facilities and services in light of the urban and residential development in these areas.
