'One million women and girls have lost their dignity, their homes, their families, their memories,' she said following a recent visit to the war-torn Strip. 'You can see destruction everywhere in Gaza,' she said, adding that during her visit to the Strip, she saw vast areas of tents for displaced persons, while some chose to live in devastated buildings amid the struggle to access food and water.
