Gaza – Ma’an – The UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction in Gaza, Sigrid Kaag, arrived in the Gaza Strip, where she visited the Hope Basin in Khan Yunis.
The UN official was accompanied by UNICEF, OCHA, and a number of international and civil institutions during the visit, and they were received by the Water Authority.
Mr. Omar Shatat, Deputy Executive Director, gave a full explanation of the current situation of the water sector and the need to enhance preparedness for the winter season, especially the Amal Basin in Khan Yunis and the need to repair the lines leading to the basin, which the Israeli army caused severe damage to during the military operation in the first quarter of 2024.
