_: Ambassador of the UAE to Jordan Nasser Sultan Al-Ameri today inspected the Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital which was deployed in Mafraq City, north of Jordan, to provide free medical care for Syrian refugees.
During the visit, the diplomat met with the Jordanian doctors, health professionals and technicians, administrators and volunteers who jointly run the mobile clinics to serve more 20000 Syrians who were displaced to the Jordanian northern city.
Operating this field hospital reflects the strong relations between the UAE and Jordan, the ambassador said in remarks during the visit.
He praised the Jordanian authorities and aid agencies for facilitating the deployment of the mobile unit to alleviate the suffering of refugees.
Head of the Jordanian Red Crescent Dr Mohammed Al Hadeed hailed the efforts by the UAE team and expressed appreciation of the support extended to the refugees by the UAE, under the able leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
UAE Cardiologist Adel Al Shameri, Director of the Hospital, said the hospital is now ready to receive 500 patients daily for screening and treatment. People with almost all diseases are served by the hospital which also has a psychological support unit and a care center for children and old people, he added.
