The State of Qatar informed the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General of a violation of Qatari sovereignty on the part of UAE.
HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani said in a message to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and to HE President of the UN Security Council for this month Ambassador Karel van Oosterom that a military transport aircraft CN-35 that belongs to the UAE violated the airspace of the State of Qatar on Sunday March 4.
The message described the incident as a severe violation of international law, highlighting the UAE’s continued violation of Qatari sovereignty could escalate tension in the region and does not take into consideration security and stability, which can have severe consequences on the security and stability of the region.
The government of the State of Qatar renewed its call on the UN to take the necessary measures to preserve international peace and security by putting an end to the UAE’s continued violations. The message also added that while the State of Qatar continues to exercise restraint in the face of such irresponsible and provocative actions, Qatar condemns any violation of its sovereignty, and that the country maintains the right to respond to any violations, with the message highlighting that the country will do whatever is necessary to protect its borders and national security in line with the international law.
