The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Welcomes Opening of Finland’s Embassy in Qatar

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the opening of the Embassy of the Republic Finland in the State of Qatar, which will begin its work by the end of 2021, expressing that the State of Qatar looks forward to opening its own embassy in Finland in the near future.

The Ministry affirmed that the relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Finland are constantly progressing in a way that meets the mutual aspirations to develop the political and economic partnership.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said that the State of Qatar is looking forward to building upon the strong relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Finland to enhance economic, political and cultural partnerships between the two friendly countries.

For his part, HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland Pekka Haavisto said that having his country's embassy in Doha will strengthen the political relations between the two countries, and provide Finland with better opportunities to follow up on the developments in the region.

This significant event is considered a big step towards enhancing opportunities of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in many different fields, including the fields of trade, investment, research and innovations.
