For his part, Marketing and Public Relations Manager at Mwani Qatar Hamad Al Ansari reaffirmed Mwani Qatar’s commitment to modernizing the maritime transport industry and boosting its capabilities in accordance with the Ministry of Transport’s (MOC) strategic plan intended to develop the transport sectors in the nation and ease trade, turning the State of Qatar into a regional trading hub.

He pointed out that Mwani Qatar’s sponsorship and participation in the Ministry of Transport’s ‘Sustainable Transportation and Legacy for Generations’ Conference and Exhibition stems from the company’s strong belief in the event’s significance, and it falls within the framework of its social responsibility and commitment to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

“The State of Qatar has become a leading player in the global maritime sector thanks to its use of technology and keeping up with the latest developments,” he said, adding “Hamad Port’s advanced infrastructure and modern technologies have accelerated its globalization and reduced ship loading and unloading wait times.” He noted that Hamad Port holds over 28 percent of the commercial market share in the Middle East, adding that it also has over 28 shipping lines that offer direct and indirect services to more than 100 maritime destinations globally.

In a related context, Group Chief Executive Officer at QTerminals Neville Bissett commended MOC’s continuous pursuit and tireless efforts aimed at laying solid foundations for achieving sustainable transportation systems in the State of Qatar, enhancing the quality of life and securing the environment’s protection.

“In line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to transform the State of Qatar into an advanced society capable of achieving a sustainable development and providing a high standard of living for its citizens and residents, we at QTerminals are actively driving an Environment, Social and Governance Program, in line with international standards, to reduce the environmental impact of our operations,” he said.

“We have taken several effective measures in our operations such as the adoption of electric vehicles and equipment, clean renewable energy, and smart environmentally friendly solutions, in an effort to raise the bar on environmental impact reductions in the ports and terminals that we operate, and in the overall global port industry. This will be further demonstrated throughout our participation in this exhibition,” Bissett added.

In turn, Communication and Public Relations Director at Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) Abdulla Ali Al Mawlawi said: “we are pleased to sponsor this key event. Our involvement as a platinum sponsor for the MOT’s ‘Sustainable Transportation and Legacy for Generations’ Conference and Exhibition underscores our commitment to supporting a sustainable public transport system and a legacy for future generations.
