Abu Dhabi: The ”Spirit of the Union” will remain the official theme of the UAE’s 41st national day celebrations, the National Day Committee announced today. At a meeting today chaired by Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, the committee decided to keep the same logo of last year’s celebrations.
This unified spirit is derived from the vision and legacy of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who bestowed on the community a passion for the environment, the gift of education, and above all the passion to continue to progress and modernize the nation.
The Committee said that all events, activities, publications and gifts will carry the official logo.
An image of unity from the 2nd of December 1971, on the first congregation of the founding fathers, was used as the basis of the creative design of the logo. The logotype carries a silhouette of the iconic image between the founding fathers of the United Arab Emirates, lead by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The Committee said the Spirit of the Union is derived from the vision and leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed, and now lives on through President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and his fellow leaders of the Emirates who are shaping the UAE’s future.
A plethora of exciting and spectacular events and community-based activities will be lined up to celebrate the UAE’s 41st National Day within the UAE and abroad starting from 25 November up to 3 December 2012.
With the aim of creating an all encompassing set of celebrations, the National Day Committee, in association with representatives from all seven Emirates, have planned a series of exciting events, projects and programmes stretching across all the nation, to promote the national identity and salute the nation’s rich history, culture, and achievements. The program sets to engage all who call the UAE home, and present them with the opportunity to reflect upon their bonds and ties with the nation, engage with the community and create worthwhile and lasting memoires as the UAE approach its 41 year of existence.
The National Day Committee has been established to coordinate a National Programme of Celebrations on the occasion of the United Arab Emirates National Day.
