Spain Evacuates Ambassador, Embassy Staff in Libya

Madrid, July 31 (QNA) -Spain on Thursday announced the evacuation of its ambassador and embassy staff in Libya capital, Tripoli due to the deteriorating security situation there .

Spain Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Ambassador and embassy staff and their families were evacuated from Libya for their safety.

The statement added that the embassy is open and a consul is existing there until security and calm are restored to the country.

It said Spain is fully confident that Libya could overcome chaos as soon as possible. The statement also called for stopping immediately ceasefire there.

It renewed Spain’s complete support of the new Libyan Parliament and its commitment to work constantly with its international partners and the United Nations to establish democracy and achieve stability in that Arab country.(QNA)
