Doha, October 21 (QNA) – The sixth edition of Schools Olympic Programme (SOP) 2012-2013, opening here Sunday, is featuring around 6,770 boys and girls.
The students are competing for top honours in the SOP sports events under the theme ‘Sports and Investment’. Today’s programme includes action from volleyball, basketball, football and handball events, according to a Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) bulletin Sunday.
Volleyball events for intermediate and secondary schools will get underway at the Al-Ahli, Al-Wakrah and Al-Arabi indoor stadiums today.
Basketball competitions for primary schools (second level) will commence at the Al Gharafa Sports Club indoor hall.
The football matches for secondary, intermediate and primary sections will be held at the QFA technical playgrounds, Al Sadd and Al Gharafa sub-playgrounds.
The SOP’s third week competitions will run from Sunday to Wednesday, the QOC added. (QNA)
