Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, yesterday attended a reception hosted by Paul Kavanagh, Ambassador of Ireland, on the occasion of his country’s National Day.
The ceremony was attended by Mary Mitchell O’Connor, Irish Minister of State for Higher Education, and Mohammed Ali Omran Al Shamsi, Director of Diplomats Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with a number of officials, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to the state, and members of the Irish community in the country.
In a speech on the occasion, the Irish Ambassador commended the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising the outstanding relations binding the two countries.
For her part, the Irish Minister lauded the development witnessed by the UAE in various fields, expressing her happiness at visiting the country and appreciated the great efforts made by the country’s leadership to empower women.
She expressed the two countries’ desire to further develop bilateral relations, especially in the field of education, stressing the importance of education and innovation and exchange of experiences in this area.
