SECURITY UPDATE: ISRAELI ARTILLERY SHELLING TARGETS SOUTHERN LEBANESE TOWNS AND HEALTHCARE CENTER IN KHIYAM

Heavy Israeli artillery on Wednesday targeted Al-Ouwayda hill near southern Lebanon's Taybeh and the town of Houla, causing a raging fire in Al-Qa'qour area. Central Khiyam has also been under heavy artillery bombardmen, and the "Khiyam Healthcare Center" of the Amel Association International in Khiyam issued a statement highlighting that the center was hit by Israeli shelling, resulting in substantial material damage. The statement noted that the center provides health and medical services to the residents of the town and surrounding areas and that this marks the third instance of Israeli attacks on the facility. The attack coincided with a tour by the organization's president, Dr. Kamel Mehanna, accompanied by Dr. Omar Nashabe, to the organization's centers in Kfarhamam, which had also been shelled by Israeli forces for the second time.
