Doha: HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber (QC), Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani, stated that the future of artificial intelligence (AI) in the State of Qatar is promising, noting that Qatar is on track to become a leading country in this field.

His Excellency pointed out QC’s keenness on leveraging AI in its services for private sector members, including customer service, data processing, automating daily operations, and analyzing market trends, emphasizing that this helps provide the best services to Qatari businesspersons and their counterparts in other countries with business interests in Qatar.

HE Chairman of QC made these remarks during his opening speech at the second Business Forum of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), held today at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Doha under the theme ‘AI and New Businesses’ His Excellency underscored that the forum provides an ideal opportunity for exchanging views and insights on the challenges and opportunities related to AI, noting that the pace of digital technological
developments is accelerating.

HE Chairman of QC further said that the development of artificial intelligence has changed many economic, commercial and social concepts and directly and positively affected work methods, explaining that QC has benefited from the use of AI after the state adopted it in many sectors in accordance with the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

He further explained that QC is leveraging technology and digital solutions to enhance its programs, particularly in industrial and commercial sectors, indicating that this strategy has bolstered Qatar’s regional and international standing, which proves that smaller nations can compete economically through advanced technology.

AI is not merely a technological tool, but has become an integral part of everyone’s lifestyle, as it presents a tremendous opportunity for developing economies and communities and enhancing all aspects of professional and daily life, he added, affirming th
at AI will not replace the primary source of intelligence of the human mind and that human involvement will remain central to life.

His Excellency also emphasized that, despite the advancements and benefits offered by artificial intelligence, several critical issues must be thoroughly examined, such as its ethical use, intellectual property protection, unbiased information, and privacy. He noted that AI is now a vital part of daily life, offering significant opportunities for economic and societal development, reiterating, on the other hand, that it still cannot replace human intelligence, which will remain essential.
