Russian FM Calls for Respecting Rule of Law and Equality in Ukraine

Moscow, June 24 (QNA) – The European Union’s mission for assistance to Ukraine should help the country assume responsibility over security, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday.

Russian news agency Itar-Tass quoted Lavorv as saying today that the EU’s mission should proceed from the principle of ensuring that law and order should be equally ensured for all Ukrainians regarding of their ethnic or religious differences.

The European Union decided yesterday Monday to establish a mission in Ukraine. The mission has a two-year mandate and should be launched before the end of August. It was one of many actions taken by the EU yesterday regarding developments in Ukraine; EU Council decided to also ban imports from the Crimea region to the Eurozone. (QNA)
