Russia Looking to Settle Ukraine Crisis

Moscow, May 27 (QNA) – Russia is interested in settling the crisis with Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday.

Russian news agency Itar-tass reported today that Lavrov said Russia never meant to disrupt its May 25 presidential elections . Despite that, Lavrov stressed that Russia was not interested in “legitimizing some part of the Ukrainian society.” Rather it wanted to take into account all parties involved, including the South-East of Ukraine.

The results of the Ukrainian May 25 presidential elections were announced, with favorite Petro Poroshenko winning more than 55% of the votes casted in the first round. (QNA)
