Rifadah and Siqayah Committee Ready with Preparations for Hajj Season

General

Makkah: The Rifadah and Siqayah Committee concluded its preparations for the Hajj season 1445 AH, designating certain areas to distribute food and beverages and formulating the mechanisms to distribute them.

The committee aims at executing the Siqayah — providing water — and Rifadah — providing food — in a civilized manner, reflecting the true essence of Islam and the authentic ritual that has been an integral cultural component of Makkah over time.

The committee is responsible for making sure that the Siqaya and Rifadah services are provided by authorized civil associations and institutions. It supervises and follows up on food and beverages distribution operations during the Hajj and Umrah seasons, monitoring any negative phenomena associated with them and proposing appropriate regulatory solutions to them.

The committee decides the types of foods and beverages to be distributed, regulating their distribution mechanism and locations, coordinating the work of associations and civil-society organizatio
ns, and directing donors from companies, endowments and individuals in coordination and coordinating the advertisements, among others.

The committee also determined the locations of the Siqayah and Rifadah services as they can be provided at internal transportation stops around the Grand Mosque, the holy sites, Mawaqit, air and sea ports, and train stations.

Expecting the number of pilgrims to reach around 2 million, the committee has taken all preparations to ensure that the Siqayah and Rifadah services are provided in an orderly and efficient manner during the Hajj season.
