Ramadan Book Fair Organizes Symposium on Family Reconciliation

In cooperation with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf), the Ministry of Culture organized a symposium on rules of family reconciliation, as part of the events held within the Ramadan Book Fair, which will continue until next Saturday at Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal.

Experts in the field of family affairs and Islamic matters have participated in the symposium.

The symposium addressed the most important rules established by Islamic law to preserve the family entity and achieve reconciliation between spouses.

Counselor of family affairs Dr. Ahmed Al Farjani said that family reconciliation goes through several stages, most importantly is acquaintance between the spouses, as well as coexistence, adaptation, understanding, and cooperation in order to reach harmony, friendship and reconciliation, to ensure a stable marriage.

He stressed the need for mutual respect and a culture of dialogue, in addition to finding common characteristics that will sustain the harmony of the relationship.

For his part, Dr. Abdul Moeen Al Qahtani, an imam and preacher at Awqaf, emphasized the importance of educating those who are about to get married before they embark upon marriage to learn how to face the new family life.

Both spouses must realize that every person has mistakes and accept that the partner is not perfect, and it is important for the husband and wife to set future plans from the beginning to enhance understanding between them, Dr. Al Qahtani added, stressing the need for openness and frankness between the spouses, in addition to mutual interests.

The two speakers gave a lot of tips that help reach reconciliation between partners. (QNA)
