Ras Al Khaimah: Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi opened on Monday, the Global Independent Water and Power Plants (IWPP) Summit at the Al Hamra Convention Centre in Ras Al Khaimah.
During the three-day event organised by Fleming Gulf, industry leaders from around the globe will present their views on the state of affairs, need projections and strategies for the power and water sector in the Middle East.
Welcoming the participants, the Crown Prince stressed the importance of the conference as a platform to discuss ways to develop energy and water sector in the Gulf and the Middle East.
Noting the priorities of sustainable development and global environmental challenges, the crown prince also stressed the need for partnerships, exchange of expertise and joint investment.
After the official inauguration, the crown prince toured various wings of the exhibition accompanying the conference and viewed power generation and desalination technologies showcased.
The implementation of several IWPP’s has taken the GCC region to the next level of providing reliable power and desalinated water to its population thereby supporting the economy as well as the community.
