Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi pointed out that “we all lose in war, which is why negotiations must be adopted,” noting that the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah “has reopened a wound among the Lebanese.”
Patriarch Rahi added: “The Lebanese have paid a heavy price for deviating from the National Pact,” affirming that “Lebanon will only be able to fulfill its mission through positive neutrality.” He also stressed that “the international community must work to stop the cycle of war, killing, and destruction.
