QU’S COLLEGE OF MEDICINE AND COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING COLLABORATES TO ORGANIZE ORGANIZING THE FIRST ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN MEDICINE STUDENTS JOURNAL CLUB

Faculty mentors, learn about machine learning applications in Medicine, Stimulate interdisciplinary research and collaborations between QU Health cluster colleges and Computer Sciences and Engineering College.

Artificial intelligence in medical applications is expected to revolutionize healthcare delivery. For example, Machine learning (ML) and Deep Learning based X-ray and CT-scan image analysis are implemented in the field of radiology to assist in diagnosis. Artificial intelligence research is at the forefront of advancing the implementation of AI in Medicine. The interdisciplinary collaborative research between College of Medicine and Computer Sciences and Engineering at Qatar University is needed to incorporate Artificial intelligence in medical education and encourage medical and engineering students to collaborate. Our medical students are future doctors and their interest and knowledge of this field is critically contributing. We believe that AI in Medicine Students Journal Club will spur curiosity, unleash potential creativity and interdisciplinary collaborations. These joint extra-curricular activities enhance learning and add value to college years.

Dr. Feras Alali said that this “AI in medicine student’s journal club is an excellent initiative and QU Health faculty should collaborate with Computer Sciences and Engineering faculty on their research.”
