Quake Hits Iran’s Kerman Province

Tehran, June 23 (QNA) – An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale jolted Anbar Abad vicinity in southeastern Kerman province in Iran Monday morning.

The epicenter of the tremor was registered in an area located at 28.66 degrees latitude and 58.04 degrees longitude, (IRNA) News Agency reported citing the Seismological center affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University.

There has yet been no report on the possible damage caused by the quake.

Iran sits astride several major faults in the Earth’s crust, and is prone to frequent earthquakes, many of which have been devastating. (QNA)
