Students of Qatar University Young Scientists Center (QU-YSC) participated in Qatar University’s Annual Research Forum and Exhibition 2021which was held under the theme ‘Building Resilience at Universities: Role of Innovation and Entrepreneurship’.
Two groups of students affiliated with QU-YSC participated in two categories of research which were innovation and computing coding.
The first search offers an electronic application called Qatar Guide. This application introduces tourists and visitors to Qatar’s tourist and archaeological areas and also introduces them to the stadiums hosting the 2022 World Cup and the locations of the matches. This research was prepared by the students “Sarah Al-Sada and Amna Al-Bouhoud” from Zubaydah High School for Girls.
The other research is an electronic application entitled “CMMT” This application aims to make it easier to teach students in different stages the study on chemistry and its basics from the periodic table and chemical equations and how to solve them in innovative ways. This application was prepared by students “Sultan al-Badr, Hassan Al Amadi and Abdullah Mahmoud” from Qatar School of Science and Technology for boys.
These innovations were carried out under the supervision and support of the Qatar University Young Scientists Center. The participation of the center’s students in the forum and the annual research exhibition comes within their affiliation to the program ‘I Am Researcher’ for the eighteenth session, which is one of the research programs provided and developed by the center. The center also participated in research for students of the summer program of the secondary school by creating a device to measure the water level using upgraded electrical control sensors automatically.
Professor Noora Jabor Al-Thani, Director of the Qatar University Young Scientists Center, said, “Today, we cannot expect our lives without Science and Technology. The Science and Technology are of great importance in our daily lives because they made things simpler and faster; they are a measure of the country’s progress, Science involves interpretation, analysis and predictions in different subjects, and technology is something that simplifies all these things together for human comfort. The center always encourages its students to learn and innovate and develop technologies and inventions that contribute to the development and renaissance of the country to achieve Qatar’s National vision 2030.”
