QU ESPORTS CLUB ORGANIZES NATIONAL SPORTS DAY FIFA 22 TOURNAMENT

The aim of this event was to contribute to the spirit of the National Sports Day and raising awareness for eSports. This is in addition to encouraging people to participate in eSports activities at Qatar University (QU).

National Sports Day FIFA 22 Tournament was organized only for male students, the first place winner was awarded with 500 Qatari Riyals QANZ gift card, second place was awarded will 300 Qatari Riyals QANZ gift card and third place winner was awarded with 200 Qatari Riyals QANZ gift card.

National Sports Day FIFA 22 Tournament announced the winners. First place winner was, Mohammed Afdhal, second place winner was Abdulraouf Hassana and third place winner was Mumen Alshehadat and Fourth place winner was Ebrahim Abdullah

Syed Hamad Abbas, President of the QU eSports Club said, “It was a fantastic experience to organize this tournament. We first accepted registrations over a week and then proceeded to the group stage from which top 4 players having the highest points qualified for the playoffs. The competition was intense and it was great to see the participants’ enthusiasm.”

He also added, “We are looking forward to any opportunity that we can take, to work with other organizations. Our platform grants us potential access to a huge number of participants and event organizers.”

Mohammed Afdhal, first place winner of the tournament said, “The tournament gave me good vibes. The environment was good and eSports Club leadership team conducted the event in an excellent way. Alhamdulillah I got to secure first place in this tournament. ESports tournaments like these are good experience for everyone especially who like to go for becoming a pro eSports player.”

The eSports club aims to create and sustain an entertaining and competitive eSports culture at Qatar University, encourage students to realize their potential as athletes, and promote overall growth of the eSports scene by building highly skilled and professional teams across gaming genres, while also allowing students to engage in teamwork-based activities.
