Qatar University (QU) honored nine distinguished students at QU’s Library building in presence of University’s staff and students.
The nine winners of this year’s Scientific Excellence Award from Qatar University bagged the following medals, in the university student category: one platinum medal and eight gold medals. The names of the honorees are as follows:
Hind Nasser Al-Nuaimi from the Pharmacy major, Faisal Ali Al-Hanzab from the International Affairs major, Al-Dana Ali Al-Yafei from Chemical Engineering, Kholoud Muhammad Al-Marri from the Public Health major, Ohoud Nasser Al-Jabri from the Accounting major, Abdullah Muhammad Al-Kuwari from the Policy, Planning and Development major, Latifa Abdullah Al-Kuwari And Iman Adel Al-Ishaq, from the law specialization and Ghanim Muhammad Abu Jassoum (mechanical engineering).
On the occasion, Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, President of QU, said: “The distinction you have achieved deserves all appreciation and praise from us. Your efforts are remarkable and are celebrated by the entire nation, starting from His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, The Amir of the country, your family and society. Today, I invite you to share your goals, ambitions, plan for a prosperous future, as for you sky is the limit.”
Dr. Hassan also indicated that Qatar University, the first National University will always provide you with the support you need and provide you with unlimited facilities. The doors of its library and laboratories are always open for you. I hope your goal is to serve your homeland and make us proud throughout your journey.”
Dr. Iman Mostafawi, Vice President of Qatar University for Student Affairs, said: “I congratulate you on this achievement and honor from His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. You have proven that Qatar University students have a strong will to achieve excellence and success, which is the fruit of your hard work, diligence and competence in your academic and personal life. I urge you to continue to achieve your goals, ambitions and to contribute with your abilities to bring about a qualitative leap for your society and country, as you are the builders of Qatar's future and you make this nation rise. I wish you more success and excellence.”
