QU AND VITO SIGNS MOU

Qatar University (QU), represented by Gas Processing Center (GPC) at the College of Engineering (CENG) and Vlaamse Instelling Voor Technologisch Onderzoek, Belgium (VITO) signed MoU.

In the presence of Dr Omar Al Ansari, QU Vice President for Academic Affairs, William Asselborn, HE the Ambassador of Belgium and Mr Arnoud Lust, VITO CEO Middle East, and officials from both institutions.

Commenting on the MoU, Prof Abdelmagid Hammuda, CENG Associate Dean for Academic Affairs said “This collaboration with "VITO" comes from the CENG’s keenness to provide distinguished research and advisory services, and in order to activate the community partnership and facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology with VITO.”

“The MoU that we sign today confirm CENG's continuous endeavor to expand ways of collaboration between the two parties to serve local institutions, in line with national priorities towards a knowledge-based economy,” he added

Commenting on the signing, Dr. Mohammed Saad, GPC Director said “In coordination with our partners, we will continue to deliver on mission and vision to fulfill the needs of the industrial sector by graduating highly qualified professionals, and by providing students with training and internship opportunities that enable them to make a difference in various areas at the workplace”.

Mr Arnoud Lust said “It has been an honor for VITO to work with such a distinguished institution as Qatar University on topics like CO2 use and indoor air quality. This MoU will strengthen and expand the solid relationship and activities we already have with QU and provide with the ideal framework to translate ideas into projects with a real impact and added value for industry and academia in Qatar. QU and VITO will be able to exchange Qatari and European practices of policy advice, excellent research, applied research for industry and innovation.”
