QU AND MUTAH UNIVERSITY IN JORDAN SIGN AGREEMENT IN THE FIELD OF AGRICULTURE

Qatar University (QU) and Mutah University in Jordan sign a cooperation agreement in the agricultural field, which was signed by QU President Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, University and President of Mutah University Dr. Arafat Atwi Awajan, in the presence of several QU senior officials and members of the visiting Jordanian delegation.

The agreement includes cooperation in the field of higher education, teaching and scientific research, with the aim of serving the local and Arab community. The two parties aim to enhance academic ties and seek exchange of knowledge and experience between faculty members and students in both institutions.

The two institutions will join forces to cooperate in the field of scientific research, including exchange of faculty members and experts from both parties to deliver lectures, conduct joint research and hold joint discussion seminars on agreed topics.

Commenting on the agreement, President of QU Dr. Hassan Al Derham said, “This agreement with a reputable university such as Mutah University is important for Qatar University addressing a vital field such as agriculture. Qatar University seeks to conclude partnership and cooperation agreements in other scientific and research fields with Mutah University.” Dr. Hassan Al-Derham expressed the university’s desire to further expand scientific cooperation with Mutah University in the field of graduate studies, technologies, cybersecurity, and other important disciplines.

Dr. Arafat Atwi Awajan commended this agreement stressing its importance for cooperation in the field of agriculture due to its importance for Arab security. He said, “Mutah University has great experiences in the field of agricultural production, water scarcity research, and other issues related to the agricultural production quality, and this is important for Qatar University.” He praised the vital role of QU and its advanced position among international universities stressing that this agreement will be positively reflected in scientific and research cooperation between the two universities. He said: “We want to enhance scientific research to solve agricultural issues, and the scarcity of water resources aiming to get into the agricultural production, and relying on automation, benefiting from the accumulation of more than sixty years of experiences in this field.”
