QOC Beach Games got underway

Doha: The second edition of the QOC Beach Games commenced at the Cultural Village Katara on Saturday. The event is held from March 19-25, 2022.

The opening ceremony was attended by H.E President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, H.E First QOC Vice President Mohamed bin Yousef Al-Mana, H.E Second QOC Vice President Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al-Kuwari, H.E QOC Secretary General Jassim bin Rashid Al-Buenain, H.E Executive Director of Aspire Zone Foundation Mohamed Khalifa Al-Suwaidi, Presidents of National Sports Federations and Directors of QOC Departments.

The second edition of the QOC Beach Games brings together 600 athletes who are competing in five beach sports including Football, Volleyball, 3x3 Basketball, Swimming Marathon and Karate.

By organizing the second edition of its beach games, the QOC aims to promote this sort of games inside the Qatari society, to keep the country's unparalleled success going on after hosting the 2019 ANOC Beach Games in Doha.

A number of educational and cultural programs are held on the sidelines of the Games to call on every single every person residing in Qatar to preserve the country’s environment. The campaign "Water is Life" focused on how important water is to sustain every day life and how it affects the longevity of sports.

The second edition of 2022 QOC Beach Games right now receiving a solid support from a number of local organizations, including Cultural Village Katara (Official Sponsor), along with the Kobeco (Official Logistic Sponsor), A & H Sports (Official Supplier) and Elan Print (Official Supplier).
