QOA Course on Asian Games Management and Organization Concludes

DOHA, (QNA) – The Qatar Olympic Academy concluded the five-day Asian Games Management and Organization course, which brought together 35 male and female trainees from various sports and administrative sectors.

The course lectures were presented by a group of experts in organizing Asian championships and administrative cadres in the Qatar Olympic Committee, sports federations, and Qatar University.

This course was part of a series of specialized courses in several fields in the Asian Games Organization, which the Academy has set on its agenda for this year, as the series of these courses will be supplemented at a later time by holding the Asian Games Public Relations and Sports Marketing course, and then the Asian Games Crisis Management course.

The lectures of the first day of the Asian Games Management and Organization Course were presented by Lewis Lewis, an expert at the Qatar Olympic Committee, who talked about the history of the Asian Games, its inception, its development and its relationship to the Olympic Games, as well as the mechanism of candidacy to host the Asian Games, the method of preparing the file, and the conditions to be met in the hosting application file.

The second day of the course was entitled "Organizational Structure of the Asian Games", where the lectures were presented by Executive Director of the Qatar Swimming Federation Mohammed Abdullah Al Sheeb, who touched on the organizational structures in the organizing committees of the Asian Games and the tasks and duties of each department.

The third day was devoted to "Human Resources Management in the Asian Games", in which Mohammed Benhamida, an expert in the Qatar Olympic Committee, spoke about the importance of human resources management, building organizational structures for departments in human resources, managing volunteers, building work teams and other related topics.

On the fourth day of the course, Assistant Professor of Marketing in the College of Business and Economics at Qatar University Dr. Othman Mohammed Al Thawadi addressed the theme of "Marketing in the Asian Games". In this context, he spoke about many aspects of marketing, partners and stakeholders, as well as the target market internally and externally.

The last day of the course was entitled "Financial Management in the Asian Games". The lectures were presented by Head of Accounts payable section at Qatar Olympic Committee Mohammed Abdullah Al Meer, who gave an integrated explanation on the construction of budgets for the Asian Games from the moment of preparing the file of the hosting request until the financial closures after the end of this great sporting event.
