The Peninsula newspaper said that the number of tourists to Qatar are on the rise as the State received more than two million visitors during the first half of 2023. It shows that the efforts of Qatar Tourism to target international tourists and promote Qatar as a destination of choice are bearing fruits.

In its editorial titled "Thriving Tourism Sector", the newspaper referred to Qatar Tourism report that revealed that Qatar received more than two million visitors during the first half of 2023, which indicates the remarkable performance of the tourism sector thanks to the many tourist attractions that Qatar abounds in, such as the leading tourist attractions and destinations, the calendar always rich in events, festivals, unique tourist experiences, and the authentic Arab hospitality that Qatar is famous for.

A key strategy adopted by Qatar Tourism is the countrys open visa policy, positioning Qatar as the most accessible country in the Middle East, The Peninsula noted.

On Arab affairs, Al-Watan newspaper said in its editorial that the was in Sudan has entered its fourth month, in the midst of a race against time to reach a peaceful settlement to the crisis. The latest mediation to resolve the conflict was made by Sudan's neighboring countries summit, which was hosted in the capital Cairo. The outcome of the summit was welcomed by the Transitional Sovereign Council, the Rapid Support Forces, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Forces for Freedom and Change. However, little has changed on the ground, as the battles continue to intensify and the humanitarian suffering reaches its peak.

The fact that the warring parties have welcomed this new initiative does not mean that things are going well. Despite repeatedly expressing their desire for a peaceful resolution and engaging in negotiations in Jeddah under Saudi-US sponsorship, the reality is contrary to that. The fighting has not ceased throughout the past three months, the newspaper noted.

At the end of its editorial, Al-Watan warned about the catastrophic situation experienced by the people of Sudan, emphasizing the moral and security responsibility of the warring parties. It urged them to immediately cease the war and engage in serious and responsible dialogue as the only means to end this tragedy and restore the path of democratic civilian transition.
