Qatari-French Business Forum Kicks off in Paris

Doha, June 23 (QNA) – The Qatari-French Business Forum began in Paris on Monday with the participation of Qatari Minister of Economy and Trade HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani.

A statement released by the Ministry of Economy and Trade to the press said that the Forum will tackle a number of issues of joint interest to both countries that include energy, information technology, telecommunication and sports.

Both HE the Minister of Economy and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius are set to give a speech during the opening ceremony of the forum. Their speech will be followed by another speech by HE Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani.

More than 75 government official, investor and Qatari businessmen will participate in the forum. The two-day event will include three sessions; the first will discuss challenges facing the State of Qatar in the energy field and the scope for joint projects available there. The second session discusses investment opportunities related to the 2022 World Cup. The final session is regarding joint investment opportunities available in the field of information technology and telecommunications. (QNA)
