Qatari Athletics, Squash, Shooting Teams Continue Competing at Asian Games

The Qatari athletics team sprinter Femi Ogunode will compete on Sunday in the 200m race at the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China.

Femi is looking forward to doing well to defend his chances in the 200 meters and make up for his failure to qualify for the 100 meters final despite achieving a time of 10.24 seconds in the first round.

Meanwhile, the Qatari shooting team will participate in the bow and arrow competition with the players Reem Al Nama and Hassan Ashkanani, along with Haya Al Hajri and Ahmed Al Abadi.

Kholoud Al Khalaf, Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Saeed Bouchareb and Rashid Hamad Al Athba will participate in the trap competitions.

The Qatari team participated on Saturday in the mixed 10-meter air pistol competition where Osama Al Shaiba achieved 271 points and Nasra Mahmoud scored 276 points. They ranked 18th in the competition with 547 points.

In squash, the Qatari team will begin the singles competitions at the Asian Games on Sunday, where Sayed Azlan will play a strong match against Mongolian champion in the round of 32 competitions. Abdullah Al Tamimi is preparing to play his match in the round of 16 on Monday, where he will face the winner of the match between the Pakistani and Thai teams which will be held on Sunday.

The Asian Basketball Confederation Referees Committee had chosen the Qatari international referee Alaa Abdel Moneim to officiate the semi-final matches and the final match of the basketball competitions at the Asian Games
