QATAR UNIVERSITY LIGHTS UP BLUE FOR WORLD AUTISM DAY

Qatar University (QU) has lit its buildings bright blue to mark World autism Awareness Day, which falls on the second of April of each year. It was approved by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007.

It is worth noting that Autism Speaks, which is the largest organization specializing in autism science and advocacy, launched a global campaign under the slogan (Light It Up Blue) in 2010. This initiative, which is celebrated annually to raise international awareness of autism as a growing public health crisis, as well as support World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Awareness Month in the United States.

Qatar University affirms its permanent commitment to the principles and values that promote equality and the full participation of people with special needs, including those with autism.
