Qatar UNESCO Rep: Doha Hosting of World Heritage Committee Was Success

Doha, June 24 (QNA) – Qatar’s permanent representative at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Ali Zainal said that Doha has successfully hosted the 38th session of the World Heritage Committee over ten days, noting that all participants praised the Qatari organization and expressed their gratitude for the Qatari people’s hospitality.

Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, Zainal hailed HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani’s management as chairperson of the 38th session.

He added that registering three out of four Arab sites is a huge achievement for Arab delegations that have the right vote, Qatar, Lebanon and Algeria, noting that “if it hadn’t been for the wisdom of Arab participants,” it would have been very difficult to register the sites. (QNA)
