Doha, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) took part in the Trade Fair for Events and Incentive Travel (IBTM Arabia) in Abu Dhabi as part of its ongoing efforts to promote Qatar as a global tourist destination.
The Qatari delegation, which includes eight members representing hosting conferences, exhibitions and hospitality industry partners in Qatar, held a number of meetings with the organizers of business events in the international exhibition aimed at strengthening the country's position as a global business destination.
A statement of QTA quoted Ahmed al Obaidly, Director of Exhibitions, as saying that event organizers and planners are always looking for new destinations to host their activities and in light of the growing interest in the Gulf Cooperation Council, the IBTM Arabia exhibition represents a unique opportunity to promote the potential of Qatar in this sector.
The authentic tourism experiences offered by Qatar as well as the high-tech capacity of centers along with the transport and communications growing network make Qatar an ideal business and tourist destination allowing scientists, researchers and artists to share knowledge and experiences, he added.
During this season, QTA is expected to lead at least 70 partners from the private sector to participate in exhibitions specialized in travel and tourism industry, so as to promote Qatar as a recreation, marine and business tourism destination .
QTA and its partners will take part in a number of global travel and tourism events, including IMEX Frankfurt 2017, the World Travel Market in London, Riyadh Travel Forum and Seatrade Cruise Global Fort Lauderdale due in Florida, USA.
