The governments of the State of Qatar and the United States of America signed an arrangement to protect the interests of the United States of America in Afghanistan, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the temporary hosting of individuals at risk due to the situation in Afghanistan, and an agreement on the exchange of information related to travel visas.
This came during the annual strategic dialogue between the two countries in its 4th session, which was launched in Washington under the chairmanship of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, and HE Secretary of State of the United States of America Antony Blinken.
The dialogue included sessions on the World Cup, labor issues, human rights and human trafficking, military and security cooperation, visa and consular issues, regional and global discussions, energy and climate change, cultural and educational cooperation, as well as law enforcement and counter-terrorism partnership, and health, economic and trade cooperation.
The dialogue included also two sessions on the sidelines of the first strategic dialogue for the Qatar-US Business Council and the second for Qatar-US Chamber of Commerce.
