Doha, Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) said today it donated a digital library to Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) Mental Health Service, as part of its socio-psychological support program.
The program is designed to boost their morale and help them respond well to treatment. The new library consists of six computers with all supplements, including educational and informative material in various fields of knowledge, for the benefit of the center's 80 in-patients. This is the third digital library donated by QRCS to HMC, with two libraries already installed at the Pediatric Emergency Center and Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Center.
Director of QRCS Social Development Department Rashid Saad Al-Mohannadi said that "QRCS tends to sensitive groups of the local community, notably patients with chronic and endemic diseases like mental illnesses, which require special care from society, particularly NGOs and charities".
He promised to keep on the initiative of providing HMC facilities with digital libraries, under the strong bilateral partnership in medical, awareness, and social activities.
