Qatar participates in Arab Health Ministers’ Council meeting

The State of Qatar, represented by the Minister of Public Health, Her Excellency Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, today participated in the 57th session of the Arab Health Ministers Council in Gevena, held ahead of the opening session of the 75th World Health Assembly.

During the meeting, the following key health issues affecting the Arab world were discussed: the health conditions in the Palestinian occupied lands including East Jerusalem and the occupied Syrian Golan; the delivery of a unified Arab Health Ministers Council speech in the 75th session of World General Assembly; the Arab fund for health development to support health sectors in member countries; the Arabian Commission for Blood Transfusion; and the ongoing plans to improve basic health services in the Arab world, carry out studies and research on health problems in the Arab world and their solutions.

The 57th Ordinary Session also placed high priority on nursing and midwifery, discussing a project to renew the award for the best distinguished activity in nursing and midwifery in Arab countries, in addition to an Arab strategy to develop nursing and midwifery up until 2030.
