Qatar Olympic Football Team Heads to Scotland Tomorrow

Doha, July 31 (QNA) – Qatar Olympic football team, also known as the Under-23 football team, travels to Scotland Friday to play three friendly matches during their ten-day summer training camp.

The camp will be held from August 1 to 10, 2014, according to Qatar Olympic Committee.

The Qatar Under-23 team will play its first friendly August 3 with Scottish Premier League club Dundee United, the second with a local team on August 6 and the third with an Albanian team on August 8.

The Qatar Olympic football team is under the supervision of coach Fahad Al Thani. The training camp in Scotland is part of the Olympic football team’s preparations for a number important tournaments scheduled this year.

Qatar will host the GCC Under-23 Championship starting in August, followed by the Asian Games tournament to be held from September 19 to October 5, 2014.

In January 2015, the Qatar International Football Friendship Tournament will kick off while the Asian Zone qualifying rounds for Brazil Olympics will be held from May 23 to 31, 2015.
