Doha: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has opened the application for joining the fifth group of the Doha Debates Ambassador Program which imbues young leaders with essential skills to conduct intercultural dialogues, address global issues, and build a healthy and just future.

QF urged youth in Qatar and all territories of the world to apply for joining this 12-week program, adding that Jul. 25, 2024, will be the deadline for application. The program broadly combines discussions through the QF’s style, as well as narratives, consensus building, and systematic thinking to assist ambassadors in researching, debating, and exploring solutions to the most important global issues for them.

The anticipated ambassadors are due to engage in weekly sessions during Sept. 3 to Nov. 27 moderated by the facilitation and intercultural communication expert Dr. Brandon Ferderer, alongside systems-thinking specialist Jennifer Geist and other international guest speakers.

Through the len
s of Doha Debates’ podcast “The Negotiators”, ambassadors will learn how to streamline discussions about the complex global problems and engage in them. They will learn to understand a wide diversity of global perspectives and personal stories of their previous fellow ambassadors.

Doha Debates Managing Director Amjad Atallah said that to bring about positive global change, the next generation of leaders needs a brave space where they can cultivate community, seek out truth, understand intercultural perspectives, and take on the worlds most challenging problems. He added that he is delighted to offer such a unique and inspiring opportunity to those pioneers who constitute a more optimistic future.

The Doha Debates Ambassadors program is organized in partnership with Shared Studios, a global startup aimed at using innovative technology to enhance relationships and foster collaboration anywhere in the world.

The program is open to fluent English speakers aged 18-26 who have continuous access to an internet-co
nnected computer for video conferences. Prospective candidates should join the Doha Debates online community and complete the introductory course ‘Introduction about the council’. Thereafter, they will be asked to apply.
