Qatar Charity, as part of its ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive, continues to implement its ‘Alaqraboon’ initiative to deliver assistance to low-income families and persons in debt and humanitarian cases within Qatar, aiming to reach nearly 10,000 people at a cost of nearly QR 86 million.
The ‘Alaqraboon’ initiative is based on the Hadith “I think you should spend it on your nearest relatives”, in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has urged to do good for the benefit of relatives. The initiative came to contribute to the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030, in the cultural, societal, economic, health and environmental fields, affirming Qatar Charity's interest in the community service.
The assistance provided by Qatar Charity, as part of the ‘Alaqraboon’ initiative, includes the following:
Financial Assistance
Qatar Charity provides financial assistance to relieve the anguish of persons in debt and reunite their families and support emergency humanitarian cases, in addition to supporting widows and people with limited income. The aid aims to lessen the plight of the beneficiaries and provide social stability for them and their families, and bring them joy during the holy month of Ramadan. This QR 84 million financial assistance is expected to benefit 4,300 persons.
Ramadan Gift
The ‘Ramadan Gift’ is to provide financial support to families with limited income. Some 5,000 people are expected to benefit from the gift at a cost of QR 1.5 million.
Eid Clothing
Qatar Charity also provides financial support to children from low-income families during Ramadan to provide them with the Eid clothes. Some 450 children are expected to benefit from the project worth QR180,000.
Qatar Charity urges philanthropists in Qatar to donate in Ramadan, the month of giving, solidarity and compassion, to benefit persons in debt and humanitarian cases and support Qatar Charity’s other Ramadan projects to maximize the number of beneficiaries.
‘Alaqraboon’ app
The ‘Alaqraboon’ app makes it easier for low-income families and those in debt or requiring urgent humanitarian assistance in Qatar to easily submit and follow up requests for assistance. This app, which is the first of its kind in Qatar, helps them know the required documents that should be attached along with the requests.
