Public Health Emergency Operations Center: Israeli airstrike targets rescue workers in southern Lebanon, killing ten firefighters

The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health on Monday issued a statement condemning an Israeli enemy airstrike on a municipal building in Baraachit, South Lebanon.

“The Israeli enemy adds another war crime to its long record of ongoing atrocities by targeting firefighters and paramedics in southern Lebanon, displaying unprecedented violence and inhumanity. These individuals were engaged solely in humanitarian and rescue missions, far removed from any combat activities.

An aggressive airstrike on the Union of Municipalities of Bint Jbeil building in the town of Baraachit resulted in a massacre of firefighters who were stationed there, preparing to carry out their rescue missions. The initial toll of the strike is the martyrdom of ten firefighters, while efforts to remove the rubble from the heavily damaged building are still ongoing.”
