Doha, October 03 (QNA) – HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol of Thailand, the daughter of the king of Thailand, on Wednesday visited Qatar Foundation for Combating Human Trafficking (QFCHT).
The Thai distinguished guest was accompanied during the visit by an official delegation led by HE Panyarak Poolthup, the Thai Ambassador Ext. & Plen accredited to Qatar. The visit falls within the context of her current visit to Qatar for the preparation of the Thirteenth UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar in 2015.
The Thai Princess was welcomed upon arrival by QFCHT’s Board Chairman Dr. Abdullah Al-Mal, Mrs. Maryam al Malki, the General Manager of Qatar Foundation for Combating Human Trafficking (QFCHT), and a number of QFCHT officials and staff.
Maryam al Malki, welcomed the Thai guest and presented her with a short briefing about the Qatar Foundation Qatar Foundation for Combating Human Trafficking (QFCHT) since its inception as per a decision adopted by HH sheikha moza bint nasser .
Al Malki also briefed to the Thai Princess on the several legal and humanitarian services the foundation is rendering as well as the preventive efforts it presents to the various targeted categories via its modus operandi including the hotline.
The General Manager of QFCHT informed the Thai guest of the Qatari achievements in this field including the Qatari law No.15 of 2011 on combating Human Trafficking , Doha First Scientific Conference , Doha Consitutional Forum , Doha Second Forum On Combating Human Trafficking and the Arab Initiative for Building the National Capabilities Working in Combating Human Trafficking , the matter which gained the admiration and appreciation of the Thai delegation and in particular the Thai Princess which considered them a model to follow at the international level and expressed desire to benefit from that experience in her country, Thailand.
Then the Thai distinguished guest visited Qatari House for Lodging and Human Care (QHLHC) and met with some of the inmates and got acquainted with the several legal, social, psychological and health services being rendered and the rehabilitation programmes being extended to the cases available in the said house.
HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol of Thailand later visited the legal clinic of the (QHLHC) and was briefed on its programmes , IT and skilful components and its modus operandi that qualify it to act in combating human trafficking in future.
The various information and data Mrs. Maryam al Malki presented have gained the admiration and deep appreciation of Princess Bajrakiyyabha Mahidol who highly evaluated the key role played by QFCHT in combating such a grave phenomenon and lauded such a Qatari rich experience in this area and called for more cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two countries in this area .
At the end of the visit, a trophy was presented to the Thai Princess who wrote a word in the VIP register book prior to her departure.
The Thai guest arrived in Doha earlier last week for a visit to Qatar.
It is worth to mention that the QFCHT had succeeded in the recruitment of art and press media to support combating human trafficking. It used the best means available in order to deliver its vision and human mission that aims to serve the community through the recruitment of art and different press media and inviting special artists, who work in the cinema, theater and other fields of arts to participate actively in supporting the efforts of QFCHT to achieve its mission.
Qatar Foundation for Human Combating Trafficking in is a private foundation of public interest that works to combat human trafficking in all its forms and manifestations within the framework of a clear strategy and effective partnerships in order to excel in its work to reach the desired results.
