Primary Health Care Centers sign MoU with Bahrain Polytechnic

Manama, The Primary Health Care Centers and the Bahrain Polytechnic signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The MoU was signed by Dr. Ejlal Faisal Al Alawi, Chief Executive of Primary Health Care Centres, and Professor Kieran O’Kahon, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic.

The MoU aims at practical training, collaborative projects for various health sciences programs, exchange of knowledge, expertise, and ideas, coordination of joint visits between the two sides, as well as cooperation in research projects. The MoU supports efforts to enhance the level of public health services provided to all citizens and residents, by continuing more partnerships with educational institutions, within a joint approach aimed at ensuring integration in health education providing high-quality health services and establishing an advanced and sustainable healthcare system.

Dr Al Alawi emphasised the importance of integrated joint training and educational programmes that would develop the skills of healthcare workers, through effective
partnerships between primary healthcare centres and specialised bodies in the fields of education, training, and scientific research.

She noted that this memorandum will contribute to consolidating the existing cooperation paths between the two sides, by developing an effective partnership with Bahrain Polytechnic as a leading educational institution in the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising the efforts made by those in charge of the college to develop and support its cadres. Dr. Al Alawi highlighted the commitment of Primary Health Care Centers to enhance the health services provided to the community at all levels.

Prof. O’Kahon underscored the Polytechnic’s efforts to strengthen its partnerships with various sectors and fields, including health and primary care within its community initiatives and its commitment to quality education and lifelong learning.

Prof. O’Kahon emphasised that Bahrain Polytechnic seeks to achieve integration in education and training and provide high-quality health services. He noted t
hat the college views this partnership as part of its responsibility to continue to improve the services provided to the community to support the health sector in the Kingdom by providing health services institutions with national expertise, and the Polytechnic’s plan (2023-2026) based on providing educational and training programs that keep pace with the Kingdom’s economic trends and the needs of the labour market.
