The Police Academy on Tuesday celebrated the graduation of civil universities’ students of the 8th imperative qualitative course in the presence of HE Minister of Interior, Commander of the Lekhwiya Force and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Police Academy Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
The ceremony included screening a visual film which simulated the course stages starting from freshman until the last day of the course, as students took the solemn oath as a formal promise they made to defend and serve the homeland.
HE Minister of Interior handed over certificates to 41 graduates from the officer candidates affiliated with the Ministry of Interior and Lekhwiya Force who for more than six months received sports and military trainings and a variety of academic lectures in law and police sciences.
In his remarks during the ceremony, leader of the 8th imperative qualifying course Capt. Fahd Muhanna Al Sulaiti said the course commenced in the second week of February 2023, during which 41 of trainees of the affiliates of the Ministry of Interior and Lekhwiya Force joined it to further engage in a training program to ensure their transition from civil life to military life.
He outlined that the course program included sports and military trainings, along with foundation operations course at Zekreet camp which included many trainings the chief among which were combating riots, combat operation at build-up areas, art of knots and ties, descending from towers, tactical marksmanship with its various types, as well as other military trainings. Whilst the academic aspect included a variety of courses in law and police sciences.
Capt. Fahd Muhanna Al Sulaiti pointed out that the college has been committed to carrying out leadership qualification program for the candidates in order to augment their leadership and supervision skills to lead task forces with high capability and aptitude, pointing out that the graduates exerted enormous efforts to have maximum benefits in attaining the required objectives from this course.
He outlined that they were trained by a contingent of outstanding commissioned and non-commissioned officers, along with trainers who were able to help them reach high levels of physical, leadership and military preparations, in addition to equipping them with self-confidence and full readiness to serve the beloved country.
In his remarks on behalf of the graduates, the valedictorian Badr Tariq Al Said Hashim Al Sada pointed to the efforts the Police Academy has made during the course to equip the trainees with academic and military knowledge in order to pave the way for them to join their colleagues in the police force and share with them their blessed careers in safeguarding safety and security.
Al Sada said the graduates are very proud of joining and graduating from this academic edifice which provided state-of-the-art sports and military plans as the best one globally and equipped them with knowledge and skills during the whole period of the course.
According to the results of the course, the officer candidate Badr Tariq Al Said Hashim Al Sada ranked first while officer candidate Ali Hassan Abdul Rahim Bohashim Al Said ranked second and officer candidate Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Mahri Al Muhannadi ranked third.
Regarding behavior and perseverance, officer candidate Hassan Ali Abdullah Ahmed Al Obaidly ranked first, while officer candidate Fahad Salem Saqr Saeed Al Muraikhi ranked first in marksmanship and officer candidate Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Hassan Al Ibrahim ranked first in physical fitness.
In addition, HE Minister of Interior, Commander of the Lekhwiya Force and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Police Academy Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani attended the graduation ceremony of the sixth batch from the 4th edition (Summer 2023) of the Police Officers of Tomorrow’s program, held today at the academy.
The sixth batch included nearly 300 cadets who engaged in a range of activities for two weeks such as infantry military, self-defense, physical fitness, air rifle marksmanship and other cultural and sports activities.
During the ceremony, a group of cadets performed scenario shows embodying some police tasks and efforts in safeguarding security, such as handling situations of theft, fires, as well as marksmanship with its various types and raising awareness on the importance of registering the national address in quest of streamlining the process of rapid response to security incidents reports.
