HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani on Tuesday launched a comprehensive urban plan within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030.
The launch event held at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) was attended by ministers and senior officials.
Speaking at the event, HE the MME Minsiter Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi said the urban plan was the result of years of hard work and was carried out in cooperation with partners in various institutions and government agencies.
Al-Rumaihi said Qatar National Vision, and its main pillars – environmental, social, economic and human – have been and continue to be the approach of all sectors in the country, through which policies and strategies that meet the needs and challenges are formulated.
In this context, MME adopted a comprehensive plan for the country to serve as a spatial translation of the National Vision and a regulator for the future growth and expansion of the State, al-Rumaihi added.
The ministry has worked on the formulation of a national framework that includes a comprehensive set of strategies, policies, guidelines and work areas which ensures high standards of life for citizens and residents, the Minister pointed out.
