Palestinian Prime Minister Meets European Official

Ramallah, July 30 (QNA) – Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Al-Hamdallah met here today with Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs Elmar Brok.

During the meeting, Al-Hamdallah said the Palestinian government is working actively and continuously in order to restore electricity to Gaza Strip after Israel’s destruction of the power station in the sector, noting that his government is making communications in order to bring in power generators to the sector.

Al-Hamdallah briefed the European official on the damage inflicted to the infrastructure in Gaza, both at the level of the water lines, sanitation and the electricity network, in addition to the destruction of thousands of homes, institutions, and schools, explaining that 2330 houses were completely destroyed, 2080 a house became uninhabitable, and 23160 houses were partially damaged.

He stressed the need for the European Union to take a united stand to put pressure on Israel to force it halt its criminal aggression on Gaza strip, and provide support for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip during the next phase.
